Went for authentic British high tea with our tutors at M&S Foodhall. This was the first time I had a chance to try scones in the UK. The scones usually come with strawberry preserve and clotted cream. The combination is out of this world and I fell in love with it the first time trying it. 

A scone is a British baked good usually made out of wheat or oatmeal. Mixed with baking powder as a leavening agent and baked on sheet pans. Scones are often lightly sweetened and occasionally glazed with egg wash. A scone is a basic component of the cream tea. 

In Malaysia, we usually have toasted bun with butter and ‘kaya’ (called coconut egg jam since it’s made from coconut milk and duck or chicken eggs with pandan leaf and sugar).

If I were to pick one to eat every day, I would choose Malaysian toasted bun as it is able to provide comfort and only on special occasions will I bring my girlfriends out for scones.
